Reconstruction of All-Way Stop at Toronto Street and Park Street
Work is now under way and the contracting partner, G. Williams Paving, has mobilized to Toronto Street and Park Street to construct a new all-way stop, and work is now underway. During construction, the intersection at Toronto Street and Park Street will be closed daily to through traffic, with local traffic access maintained. On street parking within the work zone will be limited.
The all-way stop project includes several intersection improvements designed to support the City of Kingston’s Traffic Calming Policy. The intersection will include narrower intersection approaches, shorter cross walks and improved visibility which will create a safer crossing environment for pedestrians and reduce vehicle speed. Work will also include storm drainage upgrades, new sidewalks, road grading, asphalt paving, and line painting. Construction is expected to be completed by the end of August.

To go with the updates at Culligan Water Park, I had put a motion , that passed unanimously, requesting for an all-way stop to be added on Alfred Street at Pine Street, along with some traffic calming measures. With the increased use that will come to Culligan Water Park, safety was a concern with the foreseeable increased traffic. The motion is below.
Intersection pedestrian signals
You may have noticed work that was done at Concession Street at Kingscourt Avenue, a signalized pedestrian crossing has been added and will be activated soon.
