I am Vincent Cinanni, first elected in October of 2022, I am proud to serve as your city councillor for a second term and will continue to work hard for our wonderful neighbourhood and community. My wife Julie, son Tony and I have called Williamsville home for over 20 years. I work for a locally run IT company and have done a lot of community volunteering.

BALANCED Approach to our Housing Needs

  • establish a student housing strategy
  • make sure low to mid-income demographic is not forgotten by ensuring a wide range of housing that is affordable for every income level
  • provide transitional and supportive housing along with shelter space through partnerships to support the unhoused
  • insist new developments use the latest in green technology to reduce our carbon footprint
  • proactively nurture town-gown relations, advocating for safe housing, safe streets, and accessible public transportation

  • preserve, improve and add parks and green spaces, increase our tree canopy, and supports for community gardens
  • work towards a council endorsed plan for the Memorial Centre
  • invest in the maintenance of road, biking, and walking infrastructure

  • support community-led neighbourhood initiatives and activities
  • foster healthy cities, including addressing mental and physical health, food insecurity, accessibility issues, senior services, and access to family doctors

JOB GROWTH to Keep Families in Kingston

  • promote Williamsville District to attract shops and services for the daily needs of residents to improve quality of life
  • increase employment opportunities by supporting local business and entrepreneurs so our city can thrive
  • encourage business growth and public transportation where there is intensification
  • assist local business to become more sustainable
  • continue to develop the green economic sector to attract green industry

Accomplishments

SAFETY

Reduced speed limits in Williamsville to 40km/h and 30km/h in school zones and implemented traffic calming measures and new stop sign locations.

TRANSPORTATION

Added cycling tracks to the city’s plan for Princess Street and implemented neighbourhood cycling routes.     

PARKS

Protected the Memorial Centre open space, also acquired additional land to be dedicated as parkspace on Princess Street.

HEALTH

Supported investment of over 3 million dollars that attracted 33 family doctors to Kingston with the goal of getting everyone on the waitlist attached to a family physician.

ROADS

Invested over $70 million in road repair, rehabilitation and reconstruction which included Brock St., Princess St., and Wright Cres. among others.

HOUSING

Invested in a stabilization centre,  supportive housing, transitional housing and shelter space. Pushed to establish a student housing strategy.

Community

  • Supported the Memorial Centre Farmers’ Market by having the barn updated and insulated for winter operation.
  • Volunteered for the Memorial Centre’ Farmers’ Market
  • Supported and volunteered for the Compton Park Music Festival
  • Supported and volunteered for the Compton Park community garden
  • Attended multiple district and city wide events
  • Door knocking and outreach with monthly newsletter to connect with residents
  • Distributed important city consultation invitations directly to mailboxes.
